
Michael Munyon is a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant and the Founder of Munyon Tactical, a premier training organization providing advanced instruction in law enforcement, security, self-defense, and emergency response for civilian and government agencies nationwide.
With decades of experience in security operations, tactical instruction, and leadership, Michael has trained thousands across the United States and abroad. His expertise includes firearms, use of force, active shooter response, and personal protection, supported by his credentials as a Certified Level 2 Instructor for the Health and Safety Institute.
During his distinguished Air Force career, Michael managed security forces operations at multiple installations worldwide, leading programs in industrial, physical, and personnel security, and overseeing anti-terrorism and force protection initiatives. His leadership and instructional excellence earned him numerous commendations for service and professionalism.
Michael holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and advanced certifications in intelligence and safety instruction. He is an internationally recognized martial artist and Krav Maga expert, holding an 8th Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-Do, a 6th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu. He is a member of nine Martial Arts Halls of Fame and enjoyed a highly successful tournament career, earning multiple national and international titles.
An accomplished author and educator, Michael continues to advance public safety and preparedness through his teaching, publications, and professional development programs. In 2025, he was recognized as a HEROS of the Gulf Coast Award Winner for his outstanding contributions to community safety and leadership.
